Causes, Prevention, And Treating Acne
Tuesday, March 13th, 2012Pimples have the skill of making otherwise clear skin appear rough. Doctors have found many possible reasons for the appearance of pimples. Somethings can be done to stop them from appearing though. When they have grown, there are also many ways to get rid of them.
The first thing that pops to mind when we think of pimples is that it is typical among young people. The fact is that it is not unusual for individuals who are older to have acne. Pimples do not only develop on the facial skin. Zits can also be found around the body.
Lots of oil and dirt can clog the opening in our skin and lead to pimples. This blockage that leads to pimples is called the ‘comedone.’ Pimples are not infectious. Some research suggests that pimples is hereditary. Also, there isn’t a lot of evidence which suggests that diet is directly linked with having pimples. Bad hygiene can facilitate the accumulation of bacteria in the face and may be a contributory factor to growing pimples. Hormonal imbalance, stress and through using some cosmetics which clog pores may also develop the appearance of pimples and skin tags.
zits can appear of many forms. Whitehead is a typical form of zit where a white matter clogs the skin. Another type of acne is the blackhead which we commonly recognized with a black blockage in the skin. Papules, in comparison appear as pink bumps on the skin. Zits with pus in it are known as pustules. Nodules is another type of acne which are similar to papules but are bigger. When pimples become larger, more painful and has pus, they are now referred to as ‘cysts.’
To help prevent pimples, it’s of paramount importance to care for your skin properly and stay away from the use of cosmetics as this could block the pores in the skin. Clean the face well and have good hygiene to prevent zits and boils. To prevent pimple breakout, it will also help if we sleep on time and avoid pressure.
For those with pimples already, they can get medications to cure their condition. Salicylic acid, triclosan and benzoyl peroxide are some of the drugs which can be found in the market to cure pimples. These drugs can help to remove dead skin and deters bacterial accumulation. To avoid or cure zits, these medications plus good skin care can be useful.
When the zits become severe, it is a must to ask a practitioner for prescription medicines. When the situation is already serious, isotretinoin and antibiotics are commonly prescribed to treat the pimples and boils. Treatment can become less effective if bacteria becomes more tolerant of the drugs because of continuous exposure.
To keep a clean-looking skin, it’s good to practice ways to prevent pimples. Even if medications are available for acne, it’s still much easier to not have any pimples at all. So make yourself in good hygiene to avoid pimples! Doing so will at least prevent dirt from causing you pimples.
